1. Operator
OneWord is a service operated by We make AI work s.r.o., IČO 29697115, registered office Nové sady 988/2, Staré Brno, 602 00 Brno, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Regional Court in Brno, file no. C 152497 (the "Operator", "we"). Contact: bas@wemakeai.work · https://oneword.today. "OneWord" is a product name (obchodní označení) of the Operator; all contracts under these Terms are concluded with We make AI work s.r.o..
2. Scope
These Terms govern the use of OneWord at oneword.today and its related applications. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. The service
OneWord shows one word per day together with its complete set of grammatical forms, example contexts, and — depending on the mode — a translation or a definition. It also offers word games that review the forms you have seen. The service is an educational aid. It is not a certified qualification, not a translation service, and not a substitute for a teacher. Everything is currently free. You start without an account; after a number of days of use we ask you to register with an email address, so your word keeps coming. Your streak lives in your own browser either way.
4. Prices and payment
There are no paid plans, no subscriptions and no payments today. We do not process card details and use no payment provider. If paid features are introduced, their price, billing terms and VAT status will be set out here before any charge is possible, and pricing changes will never affect an already-paid period.
5. Digital content and your EU withdrawal right
This clause has no effect while the service is free. If paid digital content is introduced and delivered immediately, you would expressly consent to immediate delivery and thereby lose the 14-day right of withdrawal (§ 1837(l) of the Czech Civil Code / Art. 16(m) Directive 2011/83/EU). Any such purchase flow will state this before payment.
6. Acceptable use
Use the service for your own learning. Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape or resell it, and do not circumvent access controls. Where linguistic content comes from a third party under an open licence, that licence travels with the content and applies to you too.
7. Liability
The service is provided with reasonable skill and care. Language data is presented in good faith and checked against reference sources, but we do not guarantee that every form, translation or example is correct or suitable for your purpose. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages or interruptions outside our control. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Czech law, including towards consumers (§ 2898 Civil Code).
8. Personal data
Processing is described in the separate Privacy Policy at https://oneword.today/en/legal/privacy. Summary: you can read for free without telling us anything; after a number of days we ask you to register with an email address (nothing else), we never sell data, and you have all GDPR rights.
9. Changes to these Terms
We update these Terms when the service, its data handling or the law changes. The current version and its effective date are always shown at the top of this page. These are living documents: a release that changes what is collected, what it costs or which processors are used updates this text in the same release.
10. Governing law, disputes, ADR
Czech law governs and Czech courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence (Art. 6 Rome I). Consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution via the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI), https://adr.coi.cz, or the EU ODR platform, https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
11. Built with AI
OneWord is built with the help of AI. Its source code and much of the text in the app and on these pages were written with Claude, a language model made by Anthropic, and every change is reviewed by a person before it is released. No AI runs inside the service: the words, their forms and the example sentences you see come from hand-written entries and open lexical data (Wikidata Lexemes, CC0), not from a model, and nothing about you is sent to any AI provider. If we start drafting example sentences with a model, each one will be checked against a reference source before it is shown, and this clause will say so in the same release.
